An Atherton-based integrated mechanical and electrical contractor has been named amongst the best in the UK as it receives a series of industry accolades.
ASH Integrated Services has been commended for its projects and staff performance across the past twelve months, securing nominations and wins from prestigious awarding bodies.
The firm, which was established in 2019, is shortlisted twice at the UK finals of the Premises & Facilities Management (PFM) awards, which celebrates the central role of collaboration when running a site or building.
The company is one of three finalists in the SME category for its key partnership with leading care home group Lovett Care, where it updated heating facilities across three of the client’s properties to improve resident comfort and reduce heating bills.
ASH also carries out mechanical and electrical pre-planned maintenance (PPM) as well as reactive maintenance servicing works.
In addition, operations manager Gary Zetter has been nominated for PFM’s special recognition award, which celebrates professionals who go the extra mile to provide excellent service for both the facilities management sector and the wider community.
Gary has already been victorious at the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) north west awards, winning the outstanding service award for his commitment to the building services sector.
The M+E contractor also won best small budget project of the year at the regional ceremony for its installation of 875 solar panels at Manchester College’s Openshaw campus, driving the institution’s goal of becoming carbon neutral.
The two wins at the north west event have automatically secured ASH a place as finalists in the categories at the national BESA Awards.

“We were excited to enter the awards to benchmark ourselves against well established, and in many cases, much larger London-based companies.
“Having well renowned awarding bodies judge our work and people as amongst the best in the UK is a huge accomplishment for only four years in business.
Gary, who has more than 30 years of experience across facilities management, said: “Recognition from multiple industry bodies and across various categories for the high-quality projects we deliver is nothing short of phenomenal.
“I’m honoured to have been given individual acknowledgement by PFM and BESA, but having the team celebrated and being applauded for supporting a fellow SME business with vital maintenance work is my personal highlight.
“And being one of the final three shortlisted in a PFM award category is also a huge achievement, especially with 2023 seeing a record number of entries since the ceremony launched 30 years ago.”
The finalists of the PFM awards undergo a rigorous independent judging process, where two industry expert judges will be visiting the organisation’s offices, and the company directors will deliver a presentation to accompany the award submission.
The nominations add to ASH’s list of achievements in 2023, including winning best integrated M&E contractor in the north west at the BUILD Magazine Facilities Management awards.
The winners the BESA national awards will be announced on 12 October, and the PFM awards will take place on 1 November.
