ASH Integrated Services and Co-Director Antony Grace have been named finalists at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards.
The Wigan-based mechanical and electrical contractor has been shortlisted for Skills and Talent Champion, recognising the company’s commitment to apprenticeships, staff development and future talent within the engineering sector.
Antony Grace has also been personally shortlisted for Community Contributor, recognising the time, energy and leadership he gives beyond the day-to-day running of the business.
The GMCC Excellence Awards will take place at Manchester Central Convention Complex on Friday 25 September, bringing together businesses from across Greater Manchester to celebrate achievement, leadership and positive impact.
Recognition For Skills And Talent
Reaching the Skills and Talent Champion final reflects the work ASH does across the business.
Over recent years, the company has grown significantly while continuing to invest in apprenticeships, staff development and long-term careers within mechanical and electrical engineering.
This is so important in a sector facing ongoing skills shortages.

Antony Grace Shortlisted For Community Contributor
Alongside ASH’s company shortlisting, Co Director Antony Grace has reached the final for Community Contributor.
This category recognises individuals who make a positive difference beyond their own organisation.
For Antony, community contribution is rooted in showing up.
Over the last 18 months, he has given 100’s of hours of his time to school engagement, careers events, mentoring, college activity and wider conversations around skills, employment and opportunity.
His view is simple: young people cannot choose careers they do not know exist.
That belief has taken Antony into classrooms, colleges and careers spaces, where he speaks honestly about work, confidence, apprenticeships, engineering and the decisions young people make about their future.
A Proud Moment For Antony And The ASH Team
Antony said he was over the moon to reach the final.
The recognition means a great deal because it reflects the quiet, consistent work the team does every day without expecting recognition.
For ASH, the two shortlistings reflect the same belief. The company invests in skills, and Antony commits his time to the community because businesses have a responsibility to help build a stronger future for their sector and local communities.
ASH has grown from a small local business into a leading mechanical and electrical contractor. Today, the company employs 59 local people, including eight apprentices. The company has achieved that growth through continued investment in quality, training, standards and people.
This recognition from Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce marks an important moment for the business and for Antony personally.
