We are proud to share that our Director, Antony Grace, has joined the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network and recently attended his first regional roundtable as an Apprentice Ambassador.
At ASH Integrated Services, the future of engineering depends on what we invest in today.
The Apprenticeship Ambassador Network is a national movement made up of employers and apprentices who champion apprenticeships across the UK.
Its purpose is simple but powerful: raise awareness, increase engagement, and ensure apprenticeship pathways meet the needs of employers, communities, and individuals.
For Antony, this role aligns closely with work he is already passionate about.
Why Apprenticeships Matter More Than Ever
The engineering sector continues to face a significant skills shortage. Experienced professionals are approaching retirement, while demand for mechanical and electrical expertise continues to grow.
Apprenticeships offer a practical solution.
They provide structured, hands-on learning. They allow individuals to earn while they learn. They build real capability from day one. And they create sustainable career routes without the burden of unnecessary debt.
Antony began his own career on the tools and understands first-hand the value of vocational training.
Joining the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network allows him to use that experience to influence and inspire others.
Supporting the Next Generation
As an Apprentice Ambassador, Antony will volunteer his time to promote apprenticeships to young people, parents, teachers, and employers.
He will contribute to events, discussions, and activities designed to raise awareness of vocational routes and showcase the real opportunities available within engineering and construction.
His first roundtable session brought together employers and stakeholders to discuss how businesses can better support future apprentices and strengthen regional skills development.
Employers have a responsibility to step forward in these conversations.
Antony commented
“Colleges and training providers cannot shape effective programmes in isolation. Industry input ensures apprentices gain relevant, work-ready skills that reflect modern building services and emerging technologies.”
Leading by Example
At ASH, apprenticeships form part of our long-term strategy.
We currently support multiple apprentices within the business and continue to invest in training, mentoring, and development pathways.
By combining structured learning with hands-on experience, we help build confident engineers who are equipped for the demands of today’s industry.
Antony’s involvement with the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network strengthens that commitment because it allows us to contribute beyond our own business and support the wider engineering community.
Investing in the Future
Apprenticeships are a respected and proven pathway into skilled professions.
If we want a resilient, capable workforce in ten years’ time, we must invest in it now.
Through advisory roles, school engagement, and now participation in the Apprenticeship Ambassador Network, ASH Integrated Services remains committed to championing opportunity, developing talent, and safeguarding the future of mechanical and electrical engineering.
