Supporting the next generation is something Antony Grace feels strongly about, so he was proud to take part in Industry Day 2026 at The Manchester College.
Representing the world of automotive, construction and engineering, Antony joined other employers to help students explore career pathways.
Understanding what employers are really looking for helps students gain a clearer picture of the opportunities available to them.
Opening Up Opportunities
Industry Day gives students the chance to meet real employers and hear first-hand about the different routes into work.
From apprenticeships and work placements to the benefits of earning while learning.
For Antony, it was about more than simply attending an event.
It was a chance to give something back by sharing knowledge, opening minds and helping young people see that there are far more opportunities available to them than they might realise.
The Value of Earning While You’re Learning
Antony said:
“There’s just a vast amount of opportunities.
It’s great because the students are getting to learn lots of things that they just don’t know about, like how to find work and the benefits of earning while you’re learning.”
His comments reflect the value of bringing employers and students together in one space.
By creating these conversations, we can help shape future careers.
Giving Back Through Experience
At a time when many young people are still working out what their future could look like, events like this can make a real difference.
By connecting students with employers and industry professionals, The Manchester College is helping bridge the gap between education and employment.
For Antony, being involved was a simple but meaningful way to support the next generation.
This encourages more young people to see the value of practical skills, confidence and real-world experience.
